This image from "Ghost In The Shell" 2: Man Machine Interface is an even further iteration of "merged into the machine" with all sorts of techno-spikes and whatnot engulfing her body, and her face as well. It's a fairly horrific image, and doesn't require a menacing doctor or three to add to it.
In fact, if you are familiar with the backstory on "Ghost In the Shell," you'll realize this image isn't horrific at all. The woman in the image is a human identity in computer form, given a hot little android body so she can kill actual humans. The lead is just enjoying a tune-up, her personal equivalent of a massage at a day spa. It only looks horrific. You have to admit, it has Chloe's scene from "Smallville" beat. Frankly, there are a lot of bondage fantasy images that look like this.
