Son of Sinbad is the Arabian Nights adventure movie that was made for Dad, courtesy of executive producer Howard Hughes. It is full of half-naked dancing girls, harem girls, and even has a few women in chains and one clear foot fetish scene. It's a great movie in just about every respect. Some people complain about the plot, but I'm here to tell you that it definitely does NOT get in the way of the hot babes.

Son of Sinbad is the story of the son of Sinbad the legendary sailor, who's a real pussy hound who chase gals in Arabia, along with his sidekick, the poet Omar Khayyam. And they FIND a lot of gals -- the movie's credits list over 70 movie babes. Granted, over half of them are the daughters of the Forty Thieves, but even if you subtract the Forty Daughters, you still have a respectable bundle o' babes. And why in hell would anyone subtract them, anyway?

(The story is that the movie got made because Hughes was a soft touch in his Hollywood days -- constantly hit upon by beautiful young women who told him, "Mr. Hughes, I'd do ANYTHING to get into the movies!" Being a nice guy, he let them do all sorts of things. And Son of Sinbad was how Hughes came through for all those babes. He was indeed a great man.)

The movie starts out with a ten-minute exotic dance routine and never misses a step from there on in. There are no less than four extended exotic dance scenes in the movie, each of them very well done. And in each of them the dancers are watched by a couple of appreciative males but mainly by hordes of attractive babes. Watching the movie, you get the distinct impression that the major activity of women in those days was watching and performing hot exotic dances. To which we say, "Hear! Hear!" and "Hubba-hubba!"

If Son of Sinbad had been made in the 90s with more nudity and wilder dancing and a sex scene or three, it would have been awesome. But being made in the 50s, it had something you just don't see in modern B-movies -- a budget! It had great cinematography, gorgeous sets, great costumes, or lack of them, plenty of extras, many of them bodacious, and a generally fabulous look to it that movies made after the 60s somehow never managed to recapture.

As for the plot: there's this Sultan and his harem favorite (played by Lili St. Cyr) has eyes for Sinbad. But Ameer (Sally Forrest) also has eyes for Sinbad. Omar's got eyes for somebody, too. Evil guys are telling the sultan bad things, which necessitates a lot of riding around in the desert, some fighting, a kidnapping, some imprisonment, general derring-do and lots of sexy dancing. And a completely gratuitous slave auction -- mustn't forget the slave auction.

This is a GREAT film!
Sally Forrest's hot dance routine at the end of the film is performed virtually naked, and the costume that keeps her virtually naked rather than stark naked consists of a spiral of rope with sheer material between it for each breasts, and a few coils or rope connected with the same material at the hips. Sort of a rope bra and miniskirt set, just right for an exotic dance.

Plus, one of the hot babes (Kristina, played by Mari Blanchard) is kidnapped, hauled off gagged and tied hands behind on horseback, and subsequently confined to a tent, chianed at the ankle to a pole. This also occasions chaining Ameer with her arms wide apart and threatening her with torture, but they don't follow through. Then everybody rides around in the desert chasing each other and so forth, which of course includes hot exotic dancing.
Did I mention that this is a GREAT film?
With all the interest in belly dancing, bondage and Gorean lifestyles, the time is definitely ripe for a remake of this gem. No need to change a thing. Just have the slavegirls auctioned naked, also running around naked much of the time, in bondage most of the time, and perhaps doing some naked sexual bondage as well, the dancing girls dancing even closer to naked than they are now, and, well ... who could resist it?
